Playing with unparalleled precision, the Cerritos College women's soccer team won their 12th straight game, as they defeated visiting Los Angeles Harbor College, 7-0 in a South Coast Conference match on Tuesday. The win improved the Falcons overall record to 18-1-0 and 12-1-0 in conference play with one more regular season game remaining. The team will travel to El Camino College on Friday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.

The win saw five players record multiple-point games, including the state's top two scorers. Sophomore Ashley Anaya-Webb (Yorba Linda HS/Cal State Long Beach) added three more goals to her total to give her 35 on the year, while sophomore Nayeli Requejo (Bishop Amat HS), the state's leader in points (86) and assists (26), added a goal and assist. Anaya-Webb moved to within one goal of tying the school's single-season record of 36 goals, set by Monique Cisneros in 2008. Requejo continues to add to her single-season assist record, while she holds the career record with 40 assists. Her 56 career goals are also one shy of the 57 Cisneros scored for the Falcons from 2007-08.

Sophomore Jazmin Aguas (San Pascual HS) opened the scoring in the 10th minute when her shot deflected off Seahawk goalkeeper Lissandra Ledesma's hands and into the net. Anaya-Webb scored the next two goals, with the first coming in the 39th minute after sophomore Carolina Ornelas (Artesia HS) dropped a pass back in the box and Anaya-Webb drilled it home. The third goal of the half for Cerritos came in the 43rd minute and it saw Verdugo connect with Aguas, who quickly sent the ball forward to Anaya-Webb, and she scored on her first touch.

The Falcons scored a pair of goals five minutes apart in the second half to put the game out of reach. In the 52nd minute, Requejo combined her speed and dribbling skills to work around three defenders and lifted a shot into the upper corner of the net. She was directly involved in the next goal, as she once again used her speed on the edge and crossed a pass to Verdugo, who chipped the ball into the net.

Anaya-Webb completed her fifth hat trick of the season in the 76th minute, while Ornelas raced past the Seahawks defense in the 84th minute to close out the scoring.
