For the second time this season, sophomore Nayeli Requejo (Bishop Amat HS) scored four goals in a Cerritos College women's soccer win. The Falcons (8-1-0, 2-1-0) posted a 9-0 South Coast Conference win over ECC Compton Center on Tuesday afternoon. The team will now travel to Mt. San Antonio College on Friday for a 4:00 p.m. conference match.

Back on September 21, Requejo scored four times and assisted on four more in a 16-0 win over College of Lake County (IL). On Tuesday, she accounted for four goals and two assists, including the final goal on a penalty kick in the 80th minute. She now has 12 goals to go along with a state-leading 16 assists and is second in the state with 40 points.

Requejo teamed with sophomore Ashley Anaya-Webb (Yorba Linda HS/Cal State Long Beach) on two of the goals, with each getting a goal. Anaya-Webb, who scored three goals in the game, takes over the state lead with 16 on the season.

Cerritos scored five times in the first half, with sophomore Carolina Ornelas (Artesia HS) opening the scoring in the fifth minute when she received an open pass from Requejo and drilled the ball into the open half of the net. Nine minutes later, Requejo used her dribble to maintain possession of the ball and she worked around three defenders and shot the ball into an exposed portion of the net. Anaya-Webb made it a 3-0 game after freshman Kimberly Oliveras (East Career & Technical Academy, NV HS) moved the ball into the attack zone and sent a pass that allowed Anaya-Webb to turn and drill a strike into the net.

Midway into the first half, Requejo scored on a header off a corner kick in the 25th minute from the foot of freshman Jill Messersmith (Newport Harbor HS). Right before halftime, Requejo scored her second straight header on a beautiful crossing pass from Anaya-Webb.

Sophomore goalkeeper Adrianna Salazar (Downey HS) was limited to just 14 minutes before having to come off the field due to the extreme heat. She was replaced by freshman Savannah Pilovsky (Fullerton HS), but the duo did not face a single shot the entire game.

Along with Anaya-Webb, who had two goals, and Requejo's fourth, the Falcons also received a goal from sophomore Celinna Montano (Warren HS), who scored her first goal of the year in the 79th minute.
