After opening the season with six straight wins, the Cerritos College women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season, as they fell to Fullerton College, 7-2. The Falcons (6-1) will now open South Coast Conference play on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. when they host Long Beach City College.

With the loss, several players suffered their first losses of the season, most notably, #1 singles player Samantha Judan (Bishop Montogmery HS), who was defeated by Sarah Anderson, 6-2, 6-2. But sophomore Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) remained undefeated with her 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(4) singles win in the #4 position.

Also dropping their first singles match of the year were sophomores Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) and Staci Gonzales (Vista del Lago HS), who were both swept. Gonzales and sophomore Jessica Alcayde (Cabrillo HS) improved to 4-0 as doubles partners with an 8-6 win.
