Cerritos College sophomore Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) came within one set of playing for the CCCAA Women's Tennis State Championship. Judan, who advanced to the semifinals on Saturday after she defeated Remy Littrell of Palomar College, 6-3, 6-1, dropped a three-set match in the semifinals at the Ojai Athletic Center.

The #6-seeded player from Southern California, Judan saw her singles season come to a close when she was defeated in a tight match, 2-6 6-3, 2-6 to the top seeded player from Northern California, Maya Mammetgulyeva of Fresno City College. It was Mammetgulyeva and Macy Elliott that defeated Judan and Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) in the Round of 16 on Friday.

Judan concluded her season with a 16-8 record in singles play. But her experience playing - and winning the championship - in the USTA/ITA Southern California Tournament, that aided Judan in her post-season approach.
