After the first day of the South Coast Conference Tournament, the Cerritos College women's tennis team has advanced two of their six singles players to the next round. The Falcons, who are hosting the three-day event, will see those three, along with their three doubles teams in action on Friday. Singles matches are slated for 1:00 p.m., while doubles are scheduled for either 2:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m., depending on if any singles players are still in action.

Those who have advanced include sophomore Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS), who defeated sophomore teammate Natali Perez (Lakewood HS), 8-2 after earning a bye in the first round. Perez recorded a win over Judith Aguilar to advance to the next round and take onJudan, who will face Barbara Haikel of College of the Desert on Friday. Freshman Stef Flores(Golden Valley Charter HS) is facing Tran Bui of Mt. San Antonio College on Friday after her 8-0 win against Paige Jones of Victor Valley College.

Doubles play will feature #2-seeded Judan and sophomore Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) taking on Delia Hidalgo and Stephanie Rodriguez of Rio Hondo College after receiving a bye in the first round. Flores and Perez are taking on Vanessa Dewong and Amethyst Berecochea of Mt. SAC, while sophomores Staci Gonzales (Vista del Lago HS) and Jessica Alcayde (Cabrillo HS) faceLeticia Vieira and Barbara Haikel of College of the Desert.
